A
logic of crossing
An
apparently illogical logic. An affront to the simply logical logic.
It is called 'dialectics'. Do not mix it up with its by-products.
Even before the word, in its modern meaning, got its place in the
Western mental space, the reality was there, vigorous, still free of
any ideological prison. Not yet constituted in way of thinking and
explanation, but already constituent of an extraordinary dynamics.
Before being a law of the spirit, 'dialectics' is first a very deep
law of the Covenant. It draws its relevance from the experience of
the Passover mystery. Rupture. Exodus. Crossing towards the Promisedland. Crucifixion. Death bursting in Resurrection.
Is
dialectics basically possible elsewhere than in mode of grace? When
the negativity, any negativity, knows that it is not absolute, but
that through a mysterious gestation, it works with giving birth
to new existence.
Whère,
today, can it still be understood in the plenitude of its ontological
dimensions? For more than two centuries we have brought it
back to the reason of our immanent logic and the finiteness of our
schizoid enclosures? It was the key of infinite opening. We made of
it an easy verbal pass key for locks of shoddy goods. Its major
originating force is not first in the logical instrumentality of an
explanatory process but in an irreducible historically tested and
lived reality, founder of new humanity: the biblical Passover.
The
not castrated dialectics is for transcendence. It crosses a world
which resists to what is coming from elsewhere. It is foolish and
impetuous adventure 'out of'. Irreducible negation of our enclosures.
Infinite opening. Infinite Passover of the man. Infinite
Passover of the being.
