Alliance
You
will be like gods! The
euphoria occults then what a day, necessarily, will occur. It is
written: They
saw they were naked…
The hidden part of the play of the Prince of this world was probably
never as much suspected than in our days when this foolish adventure
begins to turn badly.
The
birth certificate of our modernity seals the rupture of Alliance. It
emerges, quasi imperceptibly, around the year 1100. It begins with an
'innocent' sin against the Logos, which, then, cannot be any more
simply that of the Greeks. The nominalist temptation begins
whispering this simple question: when you speak, when you think, is
it necessary that there is a guarantor other than yourself to ensure
the fundamental consistency of your word and of your thought?

This whispered doubt will be made clamour, amplified by the thousand
echoes of the cave. Five centuries later, from this doubt will proceed
the founding assertion - I
think thus I am
- of our more recent modernity.
Eight
centuries of history should be taken up again to show how, starting
from innocent emergences, the Judeo-Christian disproportion will run
his adventure in autonomy. How by a series of increasingly daring
ruptures this
disproportion gets horizontal in the pagan immanence
until atheism. How the whole modern adventure, as for its energy and
its fruitfulness, is nothing else than the continuation of the
Judeo-Christian experience, but without the Other one, without God.
How the most dynamic of our modern values are basically, in spite of
misleading appearances, Judeo-Christian values, but turning
'freewheel' and become 'crazy' because they spinned out of the source
of sense. How it is each time the greatest boldness against the
Alliance which is acclaimed on the scene of the world while passing
for more 'liberating'. How, by doing this, the bad roles in the play
fall quasi fatally on the holders of Alliance. How the
'revolutionary' dynamics of their faith is robbed, recovered without
the faith, and even turned against them. Against the Alliance.
Malice of the 'Prince of this world'… Irony of history…
Humour
of God…

Here you can see a freedom, radically opened by the existential encounter
with the infinite 'I Am', which will historically buckle itself in
anthropocentric autonomy. Man, become divine by grace of 'I Am',
closes his deification on itself and wants to become God without God.
In the place of God. Consequently God must die so that the man can be
absolutely. The son of the Other one wants to become son of himself.
The birth certificate of our modernity breaks the originating
communion and founds man in his anthropocentric autonomy.
Very
deeply
something like a reversed
negative theology
is played. Out
of
this space of strict 'humanity' it was necessary - symmetrical
inversion of the account of Genesis? - to drive out God. Too much in
the way, therefore, the Judeo-Christian Father, face to our claim of
purely parthenogenetic origin. Too much in the way, the Father of
being, the Father of Good, the Father of Truth since our own
productions, our own values, our own clearnesses are enough. Too much
in the way, outrageously too much in the way, the Father with his Son
and the Holy Spirit!
However
you can never finish driving out God. He resists beyond your logic
and your coherence which are only very shallow. Deeply, much more
deeply, at the same time occulted and driven back, attractive and alarming, the great dramaturgy is played, Mysterious reversed negative theology! Thecombat of Jacob does not finish. The hard struggle of spirits. Man
can never come back from there but limping. After that the fight
begins again and again… The 'theo-machy' continues.
The
gravity of the fall is measured at the height from where one falls.
The height from where man falls is
vertiginous. Can he fall from elsewhere than from God? Man is human
only in alliance.
In original alliance with the Logos whose light, already, lights up
any man coming in this world. To conspire against the Covenant is to
conspire against the word at its source, it means to conspire against
the 'man making up logos', it means to conspire against man. Thus,
against the Alliance, it happens that a conspiracy rises. Face to the
Word which wants to tie all things in fidelity and love is opposed a
speech which mobilizes in division. Something like a factious pact of
rebellious elements, a schizoid pact.
This
orchestration through space and time of our world plays so massively,
so invariably, against the Covenant that it wears by that, quasi
tangibly, the mark of a strange conspiracy, the signature of a
radical negativity which transcends literally the intra-mundane
capacities. Thus man decides in a world whose major stakes overflow
this world! Something like a gigantic ultra-cosmic confrontation
between light and darkness... Perhaps only the clear eyes of a child
of the Alliance can make it possible to foresee its occult
consistency and to reveal it like conspiracy against the Covenant,
against God and his Christ. A pact of anti-Alliance tied up by a
mysterious schizoid solidarity orchestrated by the Satan which is
also Legion…
Once
the Alliance broken, once God driven out and back, man remains with
his autistic turning in on himself. Something like a schizophrenia.
With a cut away spirit. With a divided spirit. With a broken spirit.
We
do not any more need you!
Man expels the grace and sees himself delivered to the capital
sins,
i.e.
to the sources of all sins. And initially, pride.
Explosiveness
Judeo-Christian does not remain indefinitely not contained. The son
of the Greek mother asserts for oneself the paternal heritage. The
man revealed divine by grace wants to become god without the Father.
The divine man expressed through the experiment Judeo-Christian wants
to only continue this experiment without God. The Judeo-Christian
disproportion, until there verticalized, breaks the' measurement' of
the Alliance and, responsible for a dynamics which comes to it from
the Other, begins again itself in autonomy and explodes in
horizontality. Then starts the adventure of the great schizoidism
which buckles the divine possible one of the man on himelf and
deploys it, anthropocentric, in his immense cave of Utopia. The son
of the pagan mother asserts for
himself the

Bucklingthe loop of man on himself we constituted ourselves an empire of
humanity. In an autogenous way. Without the Other one. In autonomy.
With our lengths, our widths, our heights and our depths. Something
like a cave - yes, this impertinent relevance of Plato, already! - a
cave
with infinite claims, but nevertheless a cave. There we opened a
world of simply phenomenal possibilities. The infinity of these
possibilities could give us enough giddiness to daze us face to the
crucial questions. Then we imagined to seek our humanity but in the
vast set of these possibilities, in the extension of our field of
being and of action, far from infinite openings…
We
scientifically disarticulated the density of the being to get an
expansion of indefinitely articulable elements, in our own way and
pleasure. That allowed us to become masters of the constructive
possibilities. And, indeed, we started to build, to build in all the
meanings of the word and in all the fields, with frenzy. At the point
to confuse the sense with this constructive possibility. There we
lost our soul. Because soul is not built and construction oppresses
it. Soul inspires, soul expires, in the breath of the Spirit.

Where
to seek the truth on basic essentials? You cannot find it in
horizontal spaces. You can find it only at the verticality of the
world and of yourself.
