Adventurers of eschatology
The
human reality, in all of its dimensions, personal, social,
historical-cultural, is child of difference.
This founding difference concerns not only the fact of being born and
of growing, it constitutes humanity in its deep being. The weight
which we grant to such or such difference, 'right' and 'left' in
political matters for instance, or so much other dichotomies which
seem to govern our existence, is itself measured by a more
fundamental difference. This one, undoubtedly, is founded in two
antithetic dimensions which are the 'components'
and the 'exponents'.
You will find them here behind their archetypal appearance. The
'adventurous
of Eschatology'
are protagonists of the 'exponents'. The 'builders
of the ideal City'
are supporters of the 'components'.
The first ones are heirs of the prophets of Israel. The second ones,
by far more numerous, generally express themselves through the varied
forms of 'Utopias'.
There
is something like a dialectical
tension in
the unconscious depths of the Westerner. Between 'builders
of the ideal City' and 'adventurers of Eschatology', seeking refuge
in a golden age and in an ideal City or going towards a promised land
through adventures and ruptures. The
'builders of the Ideal City' dream to establish the reign
of man
in a terrestrial
paradise.
The 'adventurers of Eschatology' seek the reign
of God
in a kingdom
to come.
On one side, the dream of a return in the maternal womb. On the other
side, the
epic gest of the Father. The
'builders of the Ideal City' think 'nature'
with its laws. The 'adventurers of Eschatology' think 'person' with
his freedom.
Such
a differential typology returns to a major opposition in the hearth
of the anthropological project. Something like a division of the
spirits facing the achievement of the human being. From here on a
long series of antinomies.
